Tyron Fandal is founder and president of Sand Castle Floats Inc., an Arizona corporation that supplies custom inflatables, ride hardware, poolside furniture and branded textiles to waterparks, resorts and attractions.
He built the supply side of that company from nothing. In its founding months he found, vetted and contracted seven manufacturing partners, including plants that already produce for the largest names in waterpark and leisure. He negotiated the minimums, the Incoterms and the tooling himself.
The work gave him an unusual view of guest experience. He knows the lead time, the landed cost and the failure mode of nearly everything on a pool deck. He also knows what a guest will photograph. Most people in this conversation know one or the other.
He came to it from events and entertainment. Ten years of production, staffing and operations, including event projects with the Pies Descalzos Foundation in Colombia working with vulnerable children, and a period in the tourism sector. He has delivered more than thirty talks, won entrepreneurship competitions and judged three.
Tyron is an Official Manufacturer and Supplier Member of IAAPA. He mentors founders and early-career professionals entering attractions and events, and advises operators and producers on recruitment and human resources. He works in English and French.
